The insurance industry has had a long standing relationship with crisis response consultants. Specialty Risk Insurers have engaged response consultants since the 1970’s to address matters such as kidnap for ransom, extortion and political risks. Historically, response consultants were called on to assist carriers with pre-incident consulting, marketing support and of course crisis response. Over the last decade or so, the role of the response consultant has changed dramatically. Today, the relationship between the assured, the response consultant and the firms they work for are closer than ever before. This session will touch on the evolution of the crisis response consultant and address ways in which brokers, carriers and risk managers can partner with these professionals to create opportunities, enhance protections and drive value.
